Private Client Secretary, Ipswich office

This is an exciting opportunity to work in Ellisons’ Ipswich office working for fee earners in our Private Client department.

Salary
c. £22,000 p.a.

Working hours
Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm

Holiday entitlement
20 days per annum

Duties will include

  • Electronic diary management, booking rooms and arranging meetings
  • Liaising with clients and firm’s contacts
  • Using digital transcription system, Bighand, to create letters, emails and documents
  • Amending and reformatting documents in Microsoft Word and Excel and using the Will writing software, Arken Legal
  • Using the firm’s Accounts software, Partner for Windows, to record payments in and out, create new matters and where necessary, record time spent
  • Completing standard forms using Oyez
  • Photocopying and scanning documents
  • Maintaining orderly files – keeping filing up to date

Experience and abilities required:

  • We are looking for a secretary with secretarial experience in a professional environment. Some relevant legal experience would be preferred but not essential
  • Fast typing speeds
  • Be able to deal with the pressure of the workflow and handle a backlog at times
  • The ability to multi-task
  • Confident telephone skills
  • Proven team working skills as the role requires working jointly for a team of three fee earners along with two existing secretaries
